Our first ever, Wine Lovers 5K Summer Edition at Cardinal Point Vineyard!  Many of our wine lovers were unable to make the February event, and we can't have that! Now you get to enjoy the great wine at Cardinal Point Vineyard...in shorts! The 5K course starts and finishes at the winery and winds its way through quaint, country back roads in beautiful Nelson County, VA. Cardinal Point's two covered decks are a perfect place to chill out after the race and enjoy the post-race party with family, friends and coworkers. Team up with your favorite people and compete to win biggest team and best team costume! Walker, stroller and Fido-friendly.

Participants registered on or before Sunday, May 25 are guaranteed an event shirt. A limited number of extra shirts will be given out, by date of registration, at packet pickup.

Registrants will be emailed event-specific info and race day details just prior to race day.
 

TEAMS
Rally the troops and run or walk as a team on race day! All sizes and skill levels of groups are welcome, but we consider a complete team to be 2 or more participants. Create or join a team during registration. ​Biggest team and best team costume wins a bottle of Cardinal Point wine!

 

REFERRAL PROGRAM
Invite your friends to join you at the Wine Lovers 5K. If you get 4 friends to sign up using your special referral link (which you receive in your confirmation email after you register), you'll get a $10 refund as our Thank You!

 

COURSE
This out-and-back course is mostly flat with a few rolling hills. Walker and Fido-friendly; all-terrain strollers welcome.

POST-RACE
After you cross the finish line, it's time to celebrate! 

​

• A finisher glass and a modified wine pour is included for all participants over 21

• Use the Beverage Ticket attached to your race bib to pick up your finisher glass

• Please bring proper ID to partake

​

AWARDS
Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers, and to 1st place finishers in the age groups, below. Participants over 21 win a bottle of Cardinal Point wine, and under 21 participants win a bottle of sparkling grape juice. Winners must be present at the Awards ceremony to receive their award.

REFUNDS | TRANSFERS
There are NO refunds. Participant transfers (transferring your race entry to another runner) are allowed. Please email your request two weeks before race day.

 

WEATHER
If there is severe weather that makes the course unsafe for participants, we will postpone the event to the following day. We will notify everyone via email and will post this information on the website and Facebook pages. Please make sure you can make both dates, as there are no refunds.
